Finally Recognized = Purchasing Management Association of Canada

Finally, the Purchasing Management Association of Canada's accreditation program has gained some much needed recognition! The International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management has determined the PMAC program meets the HIGHEST standard in supply chain education!

Personally, I already knew that back when I researched my options for getting into this field (20+ years ago). However, this association has never had much recognition within the Canadian corporate world. In other countries, one could find position postings and competencies based upon their national purchasing association educational programs (ie in the US, I found positions were advertised requiring a CPPO, CPPB or CPM). However, in Canada, few postings recognized the need for the CPP - in fact we've even seen the requirement for an accounting designation for senior supply/operations positions!

Hopefully, now, this international recognition will have some benefit within corporations!
