What are you reading?

With the wealth of information on the internet via e-zines, blogs, newsfeed, forums, networking sites and online excerpts from print magazines, it's becoming increasingly difficult to "keep up" with the flow of news regarding supply chain practices. Recently, I've had a colleague ask what magazines we subscribe to, and today had a twitter message from a procurement leader in the UK asking whether there were any print magazines in Canada that he should look at.

So, I'm compiling a list of what people read with regards to Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Contract Management. Please feel free to tweet, comment here, or post on our Facebook page.

For the time being, here's my list.

Canadian Subscriptions we receive due to memberships/associations:
Purchasing B2B (private and public sector procurement)
Materials Management & Distribution (name says it all)
Summit Magazine (for public Sector procurement)

Electronic Subscription
The Legal Edge from NECI (to keep up on legal cases, plus we contribute articles)

Online Blogs (in alphabetical order)
Charles' Purchasing Certification Blog
Procurement Leaders Network - Procurement Blog (I post a feed on my Facebook Page)

Purchasing Transformation

Spend Matters

As we are now following Twitter with key word searches, we are adding to the list as articles of note are posted, and as we scan the sites, we may add more blogs/newsfeeds/magazines to our collection. We also have Google Alerts setup in our Google Reader to catch key words/phrases, but as we are still 'tweaking' the key words, we'll leave that recommendation for another time :)

To keep from having reading take over, I scan articles quickly, then read those of interest later. This too could overtake work, so I speedread (an immensely helpful skill during the Royal Roads MBA program!). Any print articles of note, I pull from the magazine and keep in a folder for future reference (and article ideas), the rest of the magazine is recycled. The electronic version of this is the same, except we bookmark or digg articles for future reference.

So, what do you read? (and if you have the time, how do you keep from magazines taking over your work day?)
